Our Process
Planning your Move
Get in touch with one of our Move Managers and begin planning your move. You can do this by sending us an email, giving us a call or filling out the contact form below to request a call back. Once you have contacted us, one of our Move Managers will be assigned to plan your move with you. They will conduct your moving survey, create a moving itinerary and help you choose the services you require, answering any questions you may have a long the way.
We recommend booking a Pre-Move survey for all moving operations, big or small! This is your opportunity to tell us how you want your move to go, allowing us to plan a stress free operation.
Packing & Moving Your Belongings
SML Removals pride themselves on taking the greatest of care with your belongings.
Your Packing team will arrive at your property and begin by packing your belongings into boxes and putting furniture into reusable protective cases. Fragile items, such as stemware and artwork will be wrapped in protective materials to ensure their safety and furniture will be disassembled where necessary to allow for safe and efficient transportation. Your designated essential items, usually including your bed, kettle and TV will be left unpacked until the morning of your move day to allow for minimal disruption of your day-to-day life during your move.
On moving day, your team of professional movers will load your belongings and transport them to your new home.
Unloading & Home Dressing
Once your moving team have arrived at your new home, they will begin to unload your belongings into their pre-determined designated areas. If you have opted for our Unpacking service, the team will also unpack your boxes, putting the contents into their designated places according to your moving plan. The final task for your unpacking team will be to collect any waste created during your move, including boxes and packing materials. As a company that believes in helping the environment, we aim to use moving supplies which can be recycled or reused as much as possible.
It is important for us to leave your home looking like a home. We understand that in order for us to do this it may take some reshuffling. Home Dressing is included free of charge in our Packing & Moving service and our staff will be happy to move things around for you, to ensure that you are happy with the placement of all of your belongings in your new home.
